After graduating with my master's, I want to work as a school counselor/therapist for elementary school children for six to twelve months, because I think I am good at building rapport and engaging with children. Plus, it would be a worthwhile experience to work with kids for a while. Then I also want to work in clinical assessment and intervention of children and adolescents for some time, because I have been particularly interested in assessment tools, their usage, and conducting interviews for the past few years. Later, after exploring different avenues of psychology I want to become a lecturer either at a university or a school while practicing therapy sessions at a private clinic. Because I believe I am good at communicating with people and helping them understand different things, teaching would be a great way to utilize my knowledge and expertise. My career goals in the short-term I am currently working towards are to attend graduate school and pursue a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology. I also aim to further expand my knowledge in various aspects of the field including Neuropsychology and Psychopathology during this time. I further aim to expand my practical experience in the field by working with various organizations and varying client populations. My ultimate long-term goal is to put in my best efforts in understanding human behavior and mental processes and use my knowledge to help people achieve their full potential. I want to invest my time, knowledge, and effort into helping people improve their quality of life and overcome their struggles.
