A common theme throughout the MA AE program and the outcome of my thesis was the amalgamation of the hand-made and the digital which will be recurrent in all my future endeavours. Since I am already teaching undergrad-level textile design, one of my short-term goals is to make the courses more student-centric by introducing exercises that will give agency to the student in decision-making and design development. A long-term goal in the same vein is to develop and upgrade the textile curriculum so that the crafts and digital can be combined in response to the current need for sustainability and the use of technology by the students. I am also looking into ways to expand my research and continue to work with urban artisans. One aspect is to continue developing videos for the YouTube channel Khudmukhtar Karigar that were a part of my Thesis and expand on them further. The other is to collaborate with artisans and NGOs to develop my research in new directions.
