Smart Waste Management System Using IoT This project aims to design and implement a Smart Waste Management System (SWMS) using IoT which could be helpful in making our environment clean. Absence of such systems is a major cause for deep-rooted filthy surroundings which ultimately give rise to many diseases and distorts the aesthetic beauty of our environment. This project is providing an efficient system which will lead to eradicate the overflowing garbage by helping municipal authorities. Smart Waste Management System (SWMS) is based on low cost embedded devices that helps in monitoring the level of the garbage and detection of harmful gases in the waste bins. A unique ID is assigned to every waste bin in the city so to localize the waste bin which is full or empty. Concerned authorities can access the detailed status of waste bins with the help of internet through an android application so that immediate cleaning action can be taken. Pi camera has been installed which will prop up the municipal authority by sending the picture of sanitary worker. Technology Used: Internet of Things ( IoT ) Supervisor Name: Engr.
