Interests / quote
During school in Taxila, I was always fascinated by this term ‘scientist’ while I knew nothing about what this term really meant back then. It was in academy during counseling class I heard the term Computer Scientist as a field and FAST as an institution for the first time, it instantly drew my attention and in that very 15 minutes I decided what I wanted to do. First time I applied, I failed the entry test for CS. Did not compromise on my interests and waited for next year. Next year applied only in FAST and for CS only, that was perhaps the only decision I took with certainty and trust. In 2016, Overly excited and nervous student entered the class and was lectured by our Linear Algebra teacher for being late; where I was happy to finally find my class after two rounds of university. From first English language class section C presentation to writing ‘hello world’; from resolving clash issues outside academics to skipping classes to waste time in cafae; from submitting the assignments late to ranting on how university consider us working robots; from doing projects at 2:00 AM to going home at 2:00AM after NASCON. I am thankful for the ever lasting friendships I’ve developed and the communities I have joined i.e. FAS. There were times when the university stress destabilized every connection I had in the brain, I ceded, loose heart, but that in itself gave the courage to get myself back together, to communicate with other students, to get help from seniors or teachers or friends. There came times when we signed petitions for our rights from university as students. I can’t possibly enlist every experience, but every event makes me who I am today. A self aware, open minded, adaptable, inquisitive human being. Though cheating and lying could bring you momentarily benefits but that would not polish your skills, nor your personality. It makes me emotional and proud to say that soon I will be called as FAST Islamabad Alumni, and It was not just four years, it was a life long gift.
