IoT Based Baby Monitoring Cradle
This project’s main purpose is to provide a real-life solution to the parents to monitor their baby’s
and the surrounding conditions while they are away for work or other reasons (household chores).
To solve this problem, we have decided to develop an IoT based system, through which parents can
be immediately notified about urgent situations. This proposed system uses sensors to monitor
vital parameters, like body temperature, gas leakage in the room, room temperature, crying
detection as well as live streaming through the mobile phones. The existing baby cradles available
are costly and limited in terms of functionality. This is a new approach as compared to the previous
GSM based systems. This IoT based baby monitoring system has the following benefits:
 Parents do not have to rely or trust on any care-taker for their baby’s safety as many incidents
have been reported on the mistreatment with the babies when the parents are away.
 The amount of time parents needs to attend their babies is greatly reduced as they do not really
need to be physically there 24/7 if the baby is lying in the cradle unattended.
 Advanced system that provides overall safety and care of the child with it being cost-effective as well.
 An external Wi-Fi camera will be installed on the cradle to enable real time baby monitoring.
 Parents will be able to use a mobile application to monitor and control the different functions of
the baby cradle anytime easily.
