Kulsoom Mujtaba (i16-0023) 
 
As my journey at FAST comes to an end I am a personification of conflictedness. These past four 
years have been a roller coaster of emotions. They have made me cry, stress, panic, smile, laugh, 
and everything in between. I am filled with a great sense of happiness and accomplishment, at 
the same time grief and sadness.  
I came into the field of computer science without actually knowing what it meant to be a computer 
scientist.  The first few weeks were particularly intimating as students around me knew answers to 
questions, I could not even comprehend. However, I worked tirelessly, day and night, and I not only 
succeeded but I excelled beyond my imagination. 
My academic achievements are a testament to the fact that with hard work and dedication, there is 
no goal that cannot be achieved. More importantly, these achievements have also been a source of 
great pride for my parents, the sole source of my motivation.  
Every little encounter and experience gained here in FAST has been enriching and will remain 
within my memories for a lifetime. My instructors and mentors who went out of their way to help, 
support, and encourage me. The lifelong friends that have made these four years worth 
remembering.  
It’s tragic how things came to such a sudden end; no goodbyes, no farewells. However, every end 
has a new beginning. As this wonderful chapter of my life comes to an end, looking forward to the 
many more to come.
