Ahmad Nawaz- i160020 After completing my FSC degree, like many other students, I also started searching for some good engineering universities. But fate has already decided something better for me. As I didn’t get admission in any engineering university in spite of the fact that I came on merit list of some of them. I would be honest with you at that time, FAST was my least priority because I was not a computer or a programmer kind of a person. As a matter of fact, I didn’t even play games on my computer because I am not in all these kind of stuff. As there is a saying sometimes unexpected things happen in your life for your betterment, the same thing happened with me, I took an admission at FAST. In the beginning, I was so confused and nervous. I was worried how I would be able to do programming and also how I would be making friend in a totally new and opposite to my personality place. In initial semester I made a lot of senior friends so that they would guide me how to survive in this university. The maximum I got from them is fear but Allah was with me and He wants me to not only survive but also to flourish in the same university. I was good in math courses and I used it as my advantage and managed to get good GPA 3.2 in the first semester, in spite of taking D in the only programming course. Don’t be surprised that how I get 3.2 with D as I also got 3 A in other math courses. In my first 2 semesters, I lived a very confused life as things are not working out especially in terms of taking good grades in programming courses and also in terms of settling in the totally new environment. But after first 2 semesters, Allah started helping me out as not only I made good friends but also started getting good grades in programming courses. This would be very unfair if I would not say that my friends and teachers helped me a lot in learning and loving programming. I would also advise you to make good friend. Friends who would not only have fun with you but would also give you a room of learning. With the passage of time, many things happen with me and also lot of changings come in me but I didn’t let anything to change my faith in myself and in my Allah. You can achieve anything if you have strong faith in Allah because, believe me, if He wanted you to be successful then He would also give you the courage and ability to achieve your goals. I spent a very good time at FAST. Some people say students at FAST have to live with great pressure under the burden of meeting the deadlines of assignments, projects. You can have an idea about this, as I am writing my story at FAST as fast as I can, so that I can submit it in time but I am already late lol. You can cope with this sheer pressure by using a reward strategy. Always reward yourself when you complete any project or assignment. I made a lot of good friends at FAST and I would never forget the time and memories which I spent with them at FAST. I haven’t even graduated yet but I am already missing the FAST. I would always remember FAST not for the pressure I sustained at FAST but for the good times I spent at FAST. May Allah also help you to have a good time at FAST and to achieve your goals. ALLAH HAFIZ
