Huawei ICT Competition, Seminars, Workshops, Certifications
Interests / quote
The first time I was awarded a gold medal, on the basis of my first semester result, by National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (FAST), to say I was shocked would be an understatement. This was a far cry from the slacker I had been in high school but I managed to continue this streak of being awarded gold medals throughout my degree, a feat made possible only with the guidance of my professors. So, as I stand on the pinnacle of graduation and leaving behind 4 years of cherished memories, I am humbled and awed by the journey I’ve taken and the people who have helped me walked this path.
As I look back over my years at FAST, I realize that my educational experiences are not solely responsible for shaping me into who I am. It was my avid interest in societies and taking part in extracurricular activities ranging from the adventure society to arranging seminars, meeting industry titans and taking part in the Huawei ICT Competition in which I successfully qualified till the top 30 in Pakistan. FAST opened up doors for me - allowing me to take part in workshops, completing certifications, getting real life industrial experience as well as granting me the opportunity for Presidency of the prestigious National University Engineering Society (NUES).
Thus, I can say that my achievements throughout my university career cannot just be marked by my GPA or medals, rather by the experiences and guidance of my mentors who’ve shaped me into the person writing this. It is not modesty but honesty that drives me to say that I would be nothing without my professors’ support and knowledge. The most valuable lessons I learnt were not sitting in a classroom, rather immersing myself in practical work and benefiting from the wisdom of my professors.
I would like to sign off by advising any aspiring FASTIAN not to focus solely on GPA and grades rather allow yourself the opportunity to learn from new experiences and not remain chained to your books. Keep a positive attitude because it can help you succeed, meet goals and improve your overall wellbeing. FAST and its professors contain the knowledge that will help guide you through life and leave its imprint for years to come!
