Smart Cricket Ball
This project aims to design and implement a Smart Cricket Ball, which will become a cost-effective
and reliable tool to measure cricket ball’s release speed and spin. The current technology used for
measuring speed and spin of cricket ball is expensive and not easily available for training in
Pakistan. Also, professional operators are required to operate these instruments. This project will
replace the need for trained operators and the data generated will improve analysis and bowling
skills. This project has a good potential to become commercially viable since technical limitations of
sensor system and electronic design have been removed. So, High-Tech sports equipment is
growing rapidly in today's global market.
The Smart Cricket Ball makes use of highly sensitive MEMS gyroscope and accelerometer to
determine cricket ball speed and spin. The data generated from the sensors will be transmitted to mobile the application using bluetooth module. The bluetooth range is 50 meters in open field. The mobile application provides features for individual data. Advanced training methods can be
developed using this data.

AI enrichment

Muhammad Usman is a student who worked on a capstone project to develop a smart cricket ball using MEMS sensors and Arduino. The system measures ball speed and spin, transmitting data via Bluetooth to a mobile application for performance analysis.
