Smart Soil Monitoring System This project aims to design and implement IOT based Soil Monitoring System. Agriculture is the largest livelihood provider in Pakistan. With rising population, there is a need for increased agricultural production. In order to support greater production in farms, the requirement of the amount of fresh water used in irrigation also rises. Unplanned use of water, technically results in wastage of water. This suggests that there is an urgent need to develop system that prevent water wastage without imposing pressure on farmers. Our idea is to improve the conventional farming techniques. Our aim is to “only provide resources when they are needed”. In order to avoid the wastage of water and crops, the smart soil monitoring system is employed in the fields which regularly monitors the soil contents including pH, NPK, EC, Moisture & Temperature and the farmer is notified about the soil contents over a user-friendly application without him or her to physically keep track of the fields. This product will help the farmers grow the crops with minimum wastage of water and minimum damage to crops while maximizing the yield. Through this, we aim to digitalize our agriculture industry which can be of great use.
