I have always been a strong believer of God being the best of planners and when I look back at this enriching yet laborious journey at FAST, it reaffirms my faith that this truly, was one of His finest plans to shape me into what I am today!

Umair Shahid (18I-0240) From having no idea of how the journey would be at FAST while giving the entry tests, to arriving on my first day, to writing this down today as a ‘soon-to-be-graduate’, I must say it was a laborious journey! If I had to recall the initial days, university was an honestly different environment from the high school days. The best part was “no uniform”. Assignments and quizzes were expected but not as much in the form they were assigned i.e., long written assignments in the case of subjects such as fundamentals of accounts and introduction to finance. However, the key to settling down at FAST was the acceptance of the fact that ‘You end up exactly where you are meant to be’. You have to embrace all the challenges knowing that the tough time borne at FAST polishes you into a finer graduate. Henceforth, a new strategy to study had to be formalized for implementing in this new battlefield. It has been an incredible learning experience from the ever-changing course outlines, competent faculty members, executing real-time projects and interacting with amazing colleagues. My experience at FAST has also been exceptional because I did not confine myself to academics only; I enjoyed the social life of FAST to its fullest in the initial semesters! However, during the middle stages the COVID pandemic hit, shifting the system to a new dimension never before experienced. This led to a new understanding of structures formulated in this online day and age. I had the opportunity of serving my teachers and juniors as a Teacher’s Assistant, enhancing my grasp of the current system and how things are the way they are. It has been an extremely overwhelming and fulfilling experience throughout! Through all these opportunities provided by FAST I am not just taking back a BS(A&F) degree but mentors which can never be replaced, an undaunted confidence in my competences and an academic grooming that distinguishes me from what I was the day I stepped into this institution. I have always been a strong believer of God being the best of planners and when I look back at this enriching yet laborious journey at FAST, it reaffirms my faith that this truly, was one of His finest plans to shape me into what I am today!
