Pathways to Meaningful Work: Work Passion, Work Ethics, and Job Autonomy In this study, the aim is to delve into the intricate dynamics between work ethic, passion, autonomy, work effort and meaningful work. While prior literature often highlights the positive correlation between finding meaning in work and increased effort, this research takes a novel approach by exploring potential complexities in this relationship. Drawing upon established theories such as Self-Determination Theory and Job Characteristics Theory, we seek to uncover nuanced interactions among these variables. By examining how job autonomy moderates the relationship between work ethic, passion, and effort, this research aim to contribute to a deeper understanding of what drives individuals to perceive their work as meaningful. This cross-sectional, quantitative research synthesizes insights from various theoretical frameworks and prior empirical studies. Currently, an online questionnaire has been distributed, yielding over 50% of the desired sample size, with ongoing efforts to achieve full participation.
