Al-Driven Digital Twin Empowered Intelligent Roadside Unit (RSU) This project aims to design and implement an Al-Driven Digital Twin Empowered Intelligent Roadside Unit (RSU) system with a primary focus on strengthening Emergency Vehicle Pre-emption (EVP). RSUs deployed at intersections are responsible for dynamically adjusting traffic signals to provide priority passage to ambulances and fire trucks. However, operational faults such as overheating, battery degradation, camera misalignment, and unauthorized tampering can disrupt EVP functionality, resulting in delayed emergency response times and increased risk to public safety. To address these challenges, the proposed system integrates an Al-powered Digital Twin that continuously monitors the health and performance of the RSU in real time. The Digital Twin replicates the physical unit, analyzing parameters such as temperature, battery State of Charge (SoC), State of Health (SoH), and camera orientation. Through predictive maintenance and intelligent fault detection, the system can anticipate failures and initiate corrective actions, such as activating cooling mechanisms or stabilizing hardware components. By ensuring uninterrupted EVP operation, the system enhances emergency response efficiency and contributes to safer and more resilient urban transportation infrastructure. ey Words: Digital Twin, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), Roadside Units (RSU), Predictive Maintenance, Emergency Vehicle Pre-emption (EVP) Overview Ro•d,idl U11,11' 111.SUt.) oflfll •nc.ounlftt' f.ault!
