The proposed solution uses an event triggered energy harvesting mechanism where the displacement of a manhole cover activates a mechanical trigger that releases a weight connected to a DC motor, generating electrical energy. This energy is regulated using circuitry to power an STM32 microcontroller and a LoRa wireless communication module, which then sends an alert to a remote server or monitoring platform. Since the system generates power only when the event occurs, it does not require batteries, making it a self-powered, low-maintenance, and efficient solution for smart city infrastructure monitoring and public safety.
