FINAL YEAR PROJECT
Autonomous Vision-Based UAV System
This project focuses on developing an Autonomous Catching UAV designed to identify, follow, and safely capture unauthorized aerial
objects in real time. The system operates fully onboard using edge computing on an NVIDIA Jetson, enabling vision-based detection,
tracking, and decision-making without reliance on ground control stations. A Pixhawk Cube Orange flight controller ensures reliable
navigation, precise control, and stable autonomous flight, while a depth camera provides accurate 3D perception for close-range
localization and maneuvering. The result is a smart aerial platform capable of autonomous situational awareness and coordinated
interaction in complex airspaces.
