Interests / quote
I completed my undergraduate degree from Lahore University of Management Sciences in the disciplines of Social Sciences and Economics in 2009. while studying there I had the opportunity to live in a hostel for four years. That experience gave me a chance to interact with a diverse group of people in varied cultural settings. In an attempt to bolster my knowledge of the corporate arena and augment my learning at LUMS I chose to join IBA for pursuance of an MBA. Prior to joining the MBA Program at IBA, I obtained the necessary two year work experience at Family Educational Services Foundation (FESF), a not-for-profit organization. Even though I was able to adequately apply my knowledge of social sciences in the organization, I felt something was missing. I realized that all business entities, including philanthropic initiatives, need to have a business plan which not only revolves around effective management but also focuses on business cycles, market trends and their impact on profitability. Hence I applied to IBA to learn about the principles of business management and their application. Initially my experience at IBA involved a number of adjustments; making the transition from Social Sciences to Business Management was a major change. However interaction with qualified instructors who taught using an interesting blend of theory and case studies, occasionally complemented with guest lectures and seminars, helped me. As the MBA program nears its close, I can safely say that IBA has taught me a lot in terms of business management, particularly in the discourse of Marketing. The courses taught and projects conducted have significantly improved my research and analytical skills; a proficiency that I will be able to take with me as I step into the corporate world.
