I graduated as a textile engineer and after working as an assistant production manager in a leading textile mill for a period of 1.5 years I was really feeling an immense need of “exposure”. The aim was not only to introduce myself with the management and business related topics but I needed that exposure to broaden my vision and business perspective that would give me confidence to apply my skills effectively, and to develop ‘strategies for growth’ for my employing company.

I choose IBA because being a nationally acclaimed reputed business institution; it has a most diverse MBA student population comming from all over country. Moreover, its mandatory prior work experience requirements, not only imparts more professionalism and critical thinking to the class environment but also enables healthy sharing of knowledge and experience which in my opinion is the core aim of any MBA program.

Now, when I am on the verge of completion of my degree, I can beyond any question say that, besides providing me a strong theoretical base, IBA has provided me every opportunity to groom myself and enhance my vision as per my own choice. IBA gave me financial assistance to attend a semester long student exchange program at Tsinghua University, Beijing which is a paradigm shifting experience for me because apart from travelling and studying Chinese business practices, there I learned to question and critique well-established ideas which helped me to question and to change my own ideas. Much of this attitude was driven by the professors who encouraged us to be critical at all times, and by fellow students with different cultures, countries and academic backgrounds. This aspect of the learning experience has been priceless because it has changed how I approach and understand concepts, makes me understand the value of being concise and specific and has also given me a better sense of confidence in my own ideas.

Now, with all the grooming and learning that IBA has put into me, I am expected to continue my career as a business development professional with the focus on strategy regarding the business expansion and identification of new business opportunities.
