Interests / quote
After graduation, I did not go straight to get my MBA degree as many of my peers did, because I had somewhat higher expectations from my Masters degree. I was clear with my goals of getting a professional degree after getting some hands-on experience. Therefore, I started off working in my father-owned Flour Mill as a manager; and successfully reduced cost inefficiencies and improved governance. Later, to get a flavor of corporate culture and professionalism, I joined a multi-national bank, Standard Chartered Bank. It provided me a good learning curve and I learnt to interact equally well with consumers from every socio-economic class.

Aspiring to get an MBA degree, IBA was one of the most recommended choices where I saw my reasons to get a graduate degree fulfilled. Its culture is empowering and it inculcates independence in the way students think and act. It teaches persistence, perseverance and strength to take up challenges, and then enjoy working on their executions. Classes are rich in diversity in terms of background, expertise and experiences.

IBA has been a great experience where I am introduced to a competent student body and where I feel that ideas emerge every day. It feels challenging and thrilling to study in a fast paced learning environment. I feel proud after knowing about Alumni success stories and I aspire to see myself in their place at some point in time. IBA Alumni give me a great confidence in the Institution’s legacy and its contributions in the society.

It was IBA which made it possible for me to get an International experience; and I spent one semester at the prestigious Tsinghua University in China as an International MBA exchange student. The experience exposed me to a diverse class of 30+ nationalities. It helped me to see my potential against the students from the World’s top universities. I felt good to find myself as rich in wisdom and as strong in intellect as they were. I have got hands-on experience to work in multi-cultural teams and that enabled me to learn their work ethics and professional code of conduct. Besides classrooms, I learnt to adapt to others’ cultural values and differences. I appreciate the tolerance, versatility and the wisdom that international experience has taught me.

Looking forward, I want to see myself working on general management with more orientation towards brand building including both product and market development.
