For this reason I took a break from my employment to pursue a Master’s degree and equip myself better to have a successful career. While working as a research analyst at Mutual Funds Association of Pakistan, I was able to gain an understanding about the financial industry of Pakistan. The importance of this outcome, however, is overshadowed by the importance of the process that gave this result. The process was an eye opener in many aspects; never ending deadlines, research projects, interaction with the people in different phases of their careers. Quickly understanding my role and responsibility at the organization, my aim was always to improve myself personally and to perform to the best of my abilities. Now with a Masters from IBA, I believe I have been adequately equipped to take the world head-on without compromising on my ideals. My work experience complemented with the case study methodology used in the master’s program has enabled me to better understand the corporate workings. Having a finance background from my bachelors I was able to diversify my learning scope in masters by taking marketing and supply chain electives that have given vital information on these two diverse fields.
