Upon completion of myBachelors in Economics and Political Science from LUMS, I went on to work in various fields including journalism, research and education. All these career experiences helped me identify my true passion to enter the domain of marketing. I felt that an MBA from IBA woulddrive my career in the direction which I am passionate about. It would give me the theoretical and marketing knowledge to develop a long term, successful career in marketing where I could work todevelop creative and sustainable business solutions. An MBA has taught me how to manage the evolving needs of the dynamic Pakistani market and our consumers. Courses in supply chain, marketing, human resources and finance have provided me with a macro level perspective of the various functions involved in building a sustainable organization. During my work experience at Engro Foods, I was chosen to travel to the UAE to understand the local consumer psyche and develop a marketing plan with the local agency. On my return, I was required to present my recommendations to my team. After only two months at the organization, I had been selected to perform an important assignment. That was a major milestone for me. As a research analyst, I had to study various categories to determine which one would appeal most to the Pakistani consumer. This greatly sharpened my research and analytical skills. During my time at the Express Tribune, I single handedly launched the Classified pages and was chosen to head them alone. Despite bureaucratic hurdles, I was successful in implementing their launch. My career goal is to gain valuable experience by working with highly skilled professionals. Long term goal is to influence an evolving organization positively while nurturing true potential to its fullest.
