PERSONAL STATEMENT
IBA is, indeed, one of the best universities in the country. I have chosen to study 
at IBA because this will enable me to learn from the best faculty in the country. 
I will be able to learn all the modern tools and mechanisms that will help me 
succeed in the business world.
Being one of the most culturally diverse universities in the country, I would also 
take this opportunity to learn about other people and interact with those from 
different backgrounds to grow myself personally.
The MBA program at IBA is considered one of the toughest, yet the very best, in 
Pakistan. I wanted to undertake this challenge to polish my business skills and 
augment what I have learnt in my brief professional career.
The case-based studies and class room discussions is what makes IBA’s MBA 
stand out from the rest. And when that is complimented by some of the best 
minds in the country, and top-of-the-line faculty, it becomes the ideal combina-
tion of academic instruments.
I have worked in various sectors after my undergraduate degree. My first 
internship was at Nayatel Pvt Ltd, a company which provides services on fiber 
optics. At Nayatel, I was the first ever intern to receive a letter of appreciation 
from the CEO of Nayatel for taking various initiatives which included learning 
the difficult CRM software and handling customers, something which the 
interns were not allowed to do. And also for being part of the team that signed 
up the highest number of new customers in one month. After that, I worked as 
an Account Manager at FoodPanda, which is one of Rocket Internet’s ecommerce 
ventures.  In just 11 months with Food Panda, I had signed more and more 
restaurants every week, and over performed in many weeks than the weekly 
targets we all had been given. In Oct 2013, we all were given the opportunity to 
compete locally as well as with our global sales team in a sales competition. In 
that challenge, I signed up the most number of restaurants and was ranked as 
the No.1 Sales Representative of Food Panda in Pakistan and in Top 10 across 
globe for 31 countries.
In future, I plan to start my own business and with my MBA degree, I will be 
able to learn how to become an entrepreneur. I’ve come across entrepreneurs 
who have graduated from IBA and started their own business. One is currently 
running a burger joint in Islamabad and the other ones are two brothers who 
are managing and running the entire Gourmet Bakers operations in Islamabad. My 
former colleague at Food Panda who graduated from IBA is now the CEO of an 
online venture East Taxi Kuwait. Meeting and talking to all of them was a great 
inspiration and motivation for me in pursuing MBA from IBA. This degree will 
groom me for my future and teach me what I have to do in order to achieve my 
goals in life.
