PERSONAL STATEMENT
“Take a chance”
If the story of my life had a title, it would surely be this. All our lives we 
are taught to plan, plan, plan – and then plan some more, forgetting 
about the unanticipated that makes the journey so magically different 
from one another. Plan I did, but, as life lessons go, learnt to roll the dice 
along the way. 
A business student all my life, IBA was always the goal.  Having 
completed my BBA in Finance, I opted to pursue an opportunity in 
business development in the financial sector. It was a union, albeit 
unconventional, made in heaven for the multi-disciplined orientation my 
educational endeavours had thus far been coloured in.  The temptress 
that the world of marketing is, with its dynamic unpredictability and 
limitless horizons, it began to lure my artistic tendencies hereafter. This 
culminated in the inception of a small e-retailing venture on the side to 
channel creative energy and satiate the ever growing appetite for new 
challenges.
With two years of corporate experience under my belt, a spell long 
enough to sculpt away the raw edges of the naivety of a new graduate 
without losing the inherent passion and ambition in the process, I felt 
the time was ripe for another dip in the pool of academia. As expected, 
the MBA experience not only added to technical capabilities and skills I 
needed to further my journey into a new faculty, but also developed 
analytical skills like never before. It entailed the added benefit of 
multifaceted exposure attained in the classrooms, courtesy of the diverse 
educational and employment backgrounds of fellow students, garnering 
a more holistically strategic perspective as an analyst and as an 
individual.
 
Armed with enthusiasm and zeal to push boundaries and test new 
waters, I am particularly interested in opportunities that involve 
working with people as well as satiation for my creativity quirks. With 
this mindset and a personality to match, I believe I can be a true asset 
for any organization that inspires and values a creative spirit, with an 
appreciation for hard work and ambition.
