PERSONAL STATEMENT
I have always believed that the purpose of life is to learn and to spread the knowledge.
Hence my passion is to learn continuously from wherever I can and to apply the
knowledge where ever I go. I have always devoted myself to quality education; I did
intermediate in Pre Engineering in 2005 – 2007. Back in 2008, I applied in IBA for
BBA, cleared the test successfully, interviewed thrice but was rejected because my
percentage was 2% short of what was required. That was not less than a setback to
me. But I never gave up, never lose my hope.
After two months, I got admitted in to University of Karachi for B.S Program and
found it a fascinating experience. I acquired a thorough grounding in Marketing and
Management and its related courses. I made use of mathematical aptitude and
learned the tools, techniques and knowledge of taking an organization and client’s
goals, resources and options into consideration while making suggestions for their
financial growth. After successfully completing my degree, I joined UAE based
Trading Group, Al Futtaim GROUP as Marketing Executive. The experience proved
to be very vital. I learnt how things actually work in the practical environment. I
made use of my understanding of Sales, Supply chain and Marketing and analyzed
some flaws in company’s management system.
The specialized training in business education and the relevant work experience
allowed me to contribute practical knowledge to the growth of organization. My experiences at various organizations during the course of doing internships and work-
ing for Al-Futtaim Pakistan Private Limited (since November 2011), helped me to
develop a working knowledge of multinational companies in the Pakistani business environment.
”There are no secrets to success; it is the result of preparation, hard work learning
and practice”.
For me acquiring BBA or getting job wasn’t the end of journey. I felt a need of having
MBA from any prestigious university of Pakistan. After working for around 2 years, I
decided to go for IBA for MBA program as a full-time student.
In the initial days I understood that studying at IBA for the MBA program would be
challenging. Top quality education with strong assessment has made IBA’s MBA
differ from other institutes. But I see it as an opportunity to test my will power, to
determine that if I have the determination to go an extra mile to achieve my objec-
tives. I have a clear vision i.e. To be a successful entrepreneur at a higher level by
applying the hard skills and knowledge I’m going to acquire and that vision will not
let me digress from my goals. My aspiration is that my contribution would lead
towards the betterment of society at large. I have a strong conviction that the knowl-
edge I acquired during MBA program, help me in present and future as well to devel-
op my own thoughts and ideas about the business environment and make me capable
of increasing the productivity and competitiveness of my business enterprise and finally advance my career.
As a student, I clearly understood that it was a big privilege for me to study at the
leading business school of Pakistan – Institute of Business Administration (IBA), so I
was expected to reap all the benefits of this grand opportunity and learnt as much as
I could. I believe, IBA expected of me as a graduate student to not only put in extra
effort to cope with the challenging academics of the MBA program, but also determi-
nation and zeal to learn new management concepts and practices and an eagerness to
broaden my horizon. I was expected to carry an attitude that would be conducive to
my purpose of studying there i.e. to quench my thirst for knowledge. I was expected
to take initiatives, leadership roles and bring creativity to facilitate my learning
which I did by the grace of ALMIGHTY ALLAH.
Pursuing MBA from IBA Karachi not only provided the opportunity to become better
managers or entrepreneurs but also contributed in building leadership qualities,
teamwork, ethical values, the spirit to take risks, experiment and adapt to new
cultures, places or situations.
I believe that there is no end to education for oneself. Like it is said that ‘Education
has for its object the formation of character’ I wanted to pursue higher studies to
make myself not only a qualified person but a more learned and responsible
human being, and a master’s degree from this prestigious institution, will make an impact to equip myself with the necessary skill set to develop strategies and make better decisions, and most importantly the self believe to manage and lead a business enterprise in the future.
