Interests / quote
I started off my professional career in 2010 with Mobilink, a telecom service provider, as an associate engineer in transmission solution department. At Mobilink, I worked on several projects that were mostly related to the technical side. I was directly involved in installation of 3G equipment and other high capacity transmission equipment in Mobilink managing the launch of such projects in South region from feasibility to implementation in coordination with different vendors and received multiple awards for my services to the department. Even with the increasing mass customization and rapid engineering advances, the telecom industry size is shrinking. I could see a grey area where customer need satisfaction needed more consideration and importance. The paradigm shift from engineering mentality to concurrent engineering provoked me to expand my knowledge base horizontally as continual improvement and growth in vertical knowledge will come with experience and deep thinking. I decided to get a management degree where I can get a 360 degree overview of how different functions contribute to a business organization and how can we manage these microcosm to bring the best out of them for a sustainable business. IBA being a top business school was my first preference to pursue educational career. During my stay at IBA, I realized that customer facing departments alone cannot help achieve business its mission neither can technical departments but an environment that can foster the boundary less organizational culture, where teams operate cross functionally, is the key to success. IBA turned up to be a transforming event in my life. I opted for specialization in marketing as it is a business driver function that brings out creativity out of individuals. In order to achieve global optimum, I took flavor of Supply Chain and Human Resource Management as well. Now that I am done with all the courses I am ready to utilize my explicit knowledge in different functions and accept new challenges in a demanding environment that stimulates the same level of interest in me as my previous work did. I have an added advantage of being an engineer besides business graduate that will enable me to look at the problem from both technical and managerial perspective.
