My admission at IBA was a fortunate stroke of serendipity, where I had stumbled upon the admissions section based on a discussion I had with a colleague. The series of events unfolded positively in such a way that I was somehow enrolled as a student at the very prestigious IBA. As an HR professional having done recruitment for various clients, I understood the value of being an IBA graduate where the brand name in itself was a value addition to the candidate. I believe I was fortunate enough to capitalize on the opportunities in order to pursue IBA for my Masters. The MBA was an essential part of the plan, and has helped me to appreciate the significance of academics and theoretical knowledge in the professional environment. The MBA has been vital in assuring the value of networking and building relationships with professors and colleagues alike. My passion to pursue HR started in my freshman year (Bachelors), where I joined the “Strategic Human Resource Society”. Little did I know that being part of this exclusive group was going to mold my career and become the reason I wake up every morning and to go to work. Being a woman, there is a constant battle to break barriers and change the status quo of the society that we live in. It becomes our natural inclination to fight the unnatural and challenge ourselves on a regular basis. As a female professional it is essential to prove your worth and question the cultural stigma attached to your competence.
