MAJOR TERM PAPERS / RESEARCH WORK / PROJECTS
Economic Determinants of CO2 Emissions in the Transport Sector of Pakistan 1990-2019: In this paper, we have analysed the
economic determinants of CO2 emissions in the Transport Sector of Pakistan from 1990-2019. Pakistan’s transport sector is growing
at an exponential rate. The goal of this research is to test the effect of various factors that can be termed “economic determinants”
of carbon emissions in the transport sector namely, GDP, population density, FDI inflows, Fuel imports, Inflation, and Trade openness.
This study is conducted using time series data from World Bank Indicators of Pakistan from 1990-2019. ANOVA results show that the
identified variables impact CO2 emissions significantly in the transport sector of Pakistan.
Ibn-e-Khaldun Theory of Division of Labor & Labor Theory of Value: This paper focuses on his lesser-recognized contribution to
economics. The central thesis is that he did not just lay the foundation of the concept of division of labor and labor theory of value,
but also, pioneered fundamental principles of modern economic theory. In the first section, the paper analyses his methodology. This
is followed by a comparative analysis of his aforementioned economic theories with other economists. The last section includes a
discussion on modern economic thought deriving from Khaldun’s ideas that he presented, in the 13th century, 400 hundred years
before the emergence of Western economic thought.
